Dear Teacher

This project examines how traditional schooling in South Asia can alienate children during their formative years. The socio-spatial construct of the school depends heavily on those in power and the various objects that shape a child's experience within the school environment. While bringing attention to this alienation, the project speaks to mentors from a student's perspective, in ways they may not have heard before.

You Are The Authority!

This work is a representation of a metaphorical classroom. When you walk through the door, everything goes quiet because now you are the authority. There’s a giant notebook with floating pencils. When you touch them, they start to move, like they’re writing by themselves. Then there’s a big blackboard where you can write anything you want. This piece is about power, learning, how it feels to be in charge, and what it feels like to be in control and see the struggles of the one without power and control. It asks: As an authority, what would you do differently?

Digitol City

This project is part of a larger initiative titled Dear Teacher. It acts as both a data collection and data visualization platform, where people submit letters to their teachers. It is a digital city that keeps growing with every letter someone writes to a teacher. When a person shares their thoughts or feelings through the portal, a drawing appears on the screen. These drawings were made by real kids during one of my workshops. The idea is to show what students really feel about school and teachers, especially the things they might not usually get to say. Each letter adds a new piece to the city, turning words and emotions into something you can actually see. It is a mix of art, storytelling, and technology. In the end, the city becomes a space full of voices, memories, and feelings that quietly tap on the windows of those in power, asking them to look inside.
